Commission clears AkzoNobel–Axalta merger subject to coatings business sale

Approval requires the sale of AkzoNobel's vehicle refinish coatings business in the European Economic Area, including production facilities, assets and staff. The Commission found that the merger otherwise risked price increases for repair garages and consumers. The companies cannot complete the merger until the Commission approves a suitable buyer.
